Old School Tweaking

K&N claims their reusable air filters last forever. But Colt’s K&N air filter just died on me. After washing and re-oiling it, it quite simply choked on itself. So today I bought a new one. After replacing the old filter with the new one, I noticed the engine skipping beats at wider throttle positions. So now it’s back to the drawing board as I start experimenting with larger main jets in the carburetor to figure out the optimum air-fuel ratio. Love this old school tweaking with old school motorcycles.
