The Nathula Border Experience

Here are a few pictures taken by the Indian Army photographers while the Commanding Officer was showing us around the facility at the Nathula border with China. He took the trouble of explaining the history of the place and the various protocols in place, including the trading that happens across this border in the summer months. Mostly high ranking government officials are given this kind of treatment by the Indian Army. Tourists are taken around the complex, shown the two border gates and are asked to leave. Interaction with the Chinese soldiers across the barbed wire fence is quite simply out of the question.

I have some other pictures that I can’t post on social media. They are for our private viewing and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. This is a day etched our memories forever.
