Mussels In Brussels

I know someone who is crazy enough walk into a restaurant for the first time, and when asked by the waiter what he would like to eat, replies, “Surprise me“. I tried doing this for dinner  last night at a restaurant in Brussels. The waiter got me mussels. A bucket load of them. And they were delicious.

Apparently, mussels is the national dish of Belgium. I would have never asked for a bucket full of mussels on my own anywhere in the world. I think I’m going to do this “surprise me” thing again. 😉

My wife is going to flip when she reads this. I think she’s going to put me on a diet of boiled vegetables. For a year.
