Overnight At Amboli
This weekend my Friday night booze buddies and I decided to leave our wives and kids home and go for an overnight to Amboli, a small hill station just outside Goa. For obvious reasons, I’m not going to get into the gory details, but here are some of the more decent pictures. Click the images for larger views.
The monsoons are in full flow and there are waterfalls all along the ghats. Here is one of them.
I’m a huge fan of brain masala (in fact brain cooked in any style) and it’s almost impossible to find it served in any restaurant in Goa. So in the morning we decided to drive down to Belgaum, which is about 60 kms away from Amboli, and have breakfast at a Muslim restaurant called Niyaaz where they supposedly served brain masala. I absolutely loved it.
The price was a shocking 28 Rupees, which amounts to about 60 cents. Before beginning to wonder how that is even possible, it may help to see how the restaurant solves the problem of tissue paper. 😉
We decided to return back to Goa via the Tilari, easily the most treacherous ghat I have ever driven. These pictures should give you an idea.
