Flip-Up Helmet

I use a flip-up helmet while touring. It’s extremely helpful when I’m stuck in a traffic jam or while riding in slow moving traffic on a hot sunny day. It does away with the claustrophobia involved in getting cooked in a full face helmet while wearing full riding gear.

So this is how I look to people who spot me on the streets on their cities or villages.

Which is probably why some ask me if I’m from the Army. Although I’d love to say yes, I don’t. But one of these days, I’m thinking I’ll tell someone I’m from the Special Forces just to see their reaction. 😉
